Medical skills education has been scaled down due to COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, the decrease in CPR skills training, which is directly related to the resuscitation of cardiac arrest patients, caused a social problem of lowering the quality of emergency care. While new online education methods have emerged, few studies exist on online teaching and its effects. While new online education methods have emerged, few studies exist on online teaching and its effects. Since the online teaching of medical skills presents several challenges for instructors, it has not been as effective as face-to-face training. This study designed a new remote system focusing on CPR skill education. In the first study, I proposed a video education solution connected with a remote IoT feedback device for multiple students that incorporates elements of interaction, feedback, and debriefing. As a result of the experiment, the quality of chest compression depth measured by the proposed remote system was comparable to face-to-face education and showed that it could be an alternative to general education due to its high usefulness. In the second study, a new one-to-one IoT based VR remote training solution with instructor intervention was proposed. As a result of the experiment, the proposed VR solution had a high learning effect on the CPR procedure, but a rather low effect on the compression technique. This study has implications in that it is the first study to design, develop, and verify systematic non-face-to-face education focusing on skill training in a Covid environment. Although our research is limited, it is hoped that it will be an alternative to CPR skill education hit by the pandemic.
