In this study, the incremental Neuber's rule and the incremental Glinka's equivalent strain energy density (ESED) method were formulated. With the proposed formulations, the transient behaviours as well as the stabilized ones at the notch tip could be described. The constitutive model of 316L stainless steel was constructed to characterize the non-Masing behaviour of the bulk material combined with the local approximations. The notch tip stresses and strains using the approximations were verified to compare with the finite element method (FEM) results.
