Durable good monopoly with one-hoss-shay depreciation

Abstract

This paper analyzes the effects of one-hoss-shay depreciation on the equilibrium stock path in a monopoly market for a durable good. It is shown that the stock path oscillates, converging to a stationary level lower than the competitive level.
