Scheduling transactions in advanced applications of distributed database systems, such as real-time distributed groupware systems and network management systems, are different from that in traditional database systems. In this paper, we propose new scheduling models, LWL for coordinating cooperative activities in real-time distributed groupware systems, and GTM for providing interoperability to network management systems, respectively.
