Stress-wave propagation in cylindrical bars원통형 봉에서의 응력파의 전파

One-dimensional stress wave equation was solved by the method of characteristics to predict the longitudinal wave progation in a stepped cylindrical bar. For the comparison of theoretical predictions with physical phenomena, experiments were carried out in a freely suspended stepped cylindrical bar. Experimental results are found to be in good agreement with the numerical results in the wave propagation velocity and in the wave forms.
