dc.description.abstract | The problem to be treated in this thesis is to predict the dynamic characteristics (natural frequencies and modes of vibration) of ED-18 lathe from design drawings. The method to be used is that ED-18 lathe is replaced by computer model by transforming all structural elements into equivalent beams. Natural frequencies and modes of vibration are obtained by using SAP IV. The results are verified by an experiment which is carried by exciting the structure. Finally, in order to raise the first natural frequency out of the working range of ED-18 lathe, the effects of modification of the original structure are investigated by computer simulations. | eng |
