Interest in renewable energy is increasing worldwide, and the proportion of electricity generation from renewable sources is growing compared to fossil fuels. Among them, solar power generation is easily installable in homes with low operating and maintenance costs. As a result, there has been a growing interest among the general public, leading to the adoption of household-level self-generation and storage. In Germany and Australia, substantial investments have been made by both the government and the private sector for the development of Virtual Power Plant (VPP) business, establishing a solid foundation for practical implementation. In Korea, efforts are being made to promote distributed energy through pilot projects of small-scale power intermediation markets, mainly on Jeju Island. However, there is still a lack of consumer-centric data analysis in this context. Therefore, this study analyzes six months of randomly collected solar generation, electricity transactions, and consumption data from 300 households in Germany and Australia. Clustering consumers based on their activity patterns and providing tailored services to each group is a crucial aspect from a business perspective. Through this research, establishing monitoring and marketing strategies that align with community characteristics can be developed, which can serve as a reference for both domestic and international Distributed Energy Resource (DER) business.
