Since the Industrial Revolution, there was many requirements about energy consumption. Therefore, there were the depletion of fossil fuel issue and abnormal climate change issue due to the emission of carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) in the atmosphere during the combustion of fossil fuel process. Thus, many researchers have been interested in study about energy production without use limited fossil fuels and without the emission of $CO_2$. As one of the solution, the electrochemical production of energy has been attracted so far. In this thesis, we designed and developed the high-efficiency of electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution and fuel production from $CO_2$ by using nano- and atomic- scale surface structure control.
