(The) effect of social entrepreneurs' entrepreneurial improvisation and entrepreneurial intelligence in creating social value

Abstract

In this study, I seek to understand how entrepreneurs’ entrepreneurial improvisation contributes to entrepreneurial intelligence in generating social value in the context of social entrepreneurship. Addressing the scholarly debate regarding the feasibility of simultaneous pursuit of economic and social values, I discuss how the two seemingly antagonistic values may be achieved in harmony in certain circumstances. I also discuss the specific types of entrepreneurial intelligence and their relationships with creating social value. Furthermore, I focus on the importance of entrepreneurial improvisation as a trait that social entrepreneurs possess. Although I failed to discover the moderation effect of entrepreneurial improvisation on entrepreneurial intelligence in the creation of social value, I do find that different types of entrepreneurial intelligence are disproportionately related to the creation of social value.
