We developed a simple and efficient method for the immobilization of a potent AMP (SHAP1) on the surface of solid supports via initiated chemical vapor deposition (iCVD). The surface of the slide glass was functionalized with vinyl-containing polymer by iCVD, and Cys-linked SHAP1 peptides could be immobilized on the functionalized surface (glass and latex glove) via simple thiol-ene click chemistry with high efficiency. The antimicrobial efficacy of the immobilized peptides was investigated against two typical pathogenic bacteria — Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus — and it was revealed that SHAP1-GS-Cys exhibited high antibacterial efficacy (>96%).-
