dc.description.abstract | Coal is a very important fuel in our life, it is widely used in generating electricity and other institution applica-tion as iron-making. Researches about combustion process are the base of all these applications, and the study of single particle combustion regarded as the most essential base of this. Many experiments and numerical analysis have been done to explore the characteristics and unknowns during this process. Compared to the ex-perimental observation, modelling can show some characteristics hard to be observed. It can also show the probable mechanisms providing evidence of how it happens and ends. This work is mainly focused on the model of a volatile flame. Based on the understanding of previous works and experimental observation results, the model is built by adjusting reasonable assumptions to form the explanation of the process. This work explained the combustion process by explaining the limiting cases of solid and gas combustion, and then the mixture condition. It can express the characteristics of single particle coal combustion, the forming, growing and disappearance of volatile flame as the combustion proceeds in different conditions. | - |
