We report the preparation of several shape and composition-controlled platinum-based nanoparticles: Pt-Fe nanocubes, Pt-Fe-Co nanocubes, Pt-Fe-Co branched nanocubes, Pt-Fe-Co nanoparticles with low cobalt content, and Pt-Fe-Co nanoparticles with high cobalt content. Pt-Fe-Co branched nanocubes, in particular, showed the best activity and durability for electrocatalytic methanol oxidation.
