dc.description.abstractPhase equilibrium of the binary Ti-Cr system has been thermodynamically studied. The solubilities of alpha-TiCr2, beta-TiCr2 and gamma-TiCr2 Laves phases were identified and the corresponding Gibbs energy of formation and the interaction parameters were calculated. The binary V-Ti system has been reassessed. The thermodynamic description of phase diagram of the ternary Ti-Cr-V system has been made, especially, in the non-burning beta-Ti alloy region and the ternary interaction parameters were derived. Most of phase diagrams previously reported have been compared with current calculations, which are generally similar to experimental measurements. Several ambiguities between previous measurements were found. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.-
