Simulating fluid flows in a potential domain is very attractive as the computation bypasses the expensive global projection. However, the factor that limits the applicability of the method most in various situations is the difficulty of handling the boundary conditions when a complex object is present in a scene. We present a method that can effectively handle boundary conditions for any arbitrary shape object included in a potential domain. Our strategy is to incorporate a geometric deformation method into the fluid flow computation. The flow around an arbitrary object is generated by mapping the flow around a topologically equivalent sphere. This conceptually simple process opens up many possibilities of simulating fluid motions in the potential domain. We show various scenarios of fluid simulations performed in a potential domain that includes a complex object.
