A method of fabricating microgrooves on a roll surface was developed using a mirror scanner and a telecentric lens instead of a focusing lens. We used a telecentric lens with a large focal length to fabricate microgrooves on the roll. We also define "fabrication depth of focus'' in order to estimate the possible fabrication area on a roll surface. The possible fabrication area was calculated using a scanner and a telecentric lens on a standstill roll. After that, the roll was rotated for the next fabrication area. By this method, microgrooves could be fabricated on the entire roll surface. The experimental results showed that the proposed method is quite promising for fabricating microgrooves on rolls that can be used for printing electronic devices.
