Analysis of anisotropy in high modulus and high strength Carbon/Epoxy laminae and laminates has been made under the same testing conditions.
For high modulus Carbon/Epoxy laminae, modulus measurement showed that tensile moduli were 25% greater and 14% less than compressive moduli for (0˚) and (90˚) respectively.
For high strength Carbon/Epoxy laminae, modulus measurement showed that tensile moduli were 31% greater and 7% less than compressive moduli for (0˚) and (90˚) respectively.
Comparison of theoretical prediction and experimental result of the location of neutral axes for high strength Carbon/Epoxy laminates showed a fairly good agreement except (90˚/0˚) and (90˚/0˚/90˚) laminates where (90˚/0˚) lamina was subjected to compressive load.
