The agricultural sector is eagerly looking forward to a ubiquitous environment that brings innovation in decision making by adopting advanced technologies such as GPS, RFID and sensor networks. This study intends to explore the impact of the integration of RFID and sensor networks into the ERP system in agriculture. In particular, we analyze a case involving the integration of RFID and sensor networks in an ERP system used at a mushroom farm in Korea, focusing on the effectiveness this combination brings in decision making in this business. Our findings show that the integration of RFID and the sensor networks improved the quality of the decisions, shortened the decision time, and increased the number of alternatives in decision making at the mushroom farm. Moreover, the integration of RFID and sensor networks into ERP led to innovations in mushroom production, reduced the labor cost, increased productivity, and improved the quality of the mushrooms. Business implications for management are also discussed.
