In this article, a new balanced antenna integrated six-port receiver architecture is proposed and experimentally verified. The proposed six-port architecture consists of a RC-CR filter, baluns, power combiners, and a wideband balanced antenna designed to have 100-Omega impedance. The proposed integrated antenna architecture can reduce passive elements of the six-port receiver and has an excellent LO-RF isolation characteristic. The proposed six-port receiver is simulated and verified by the experiment in 1.2 GHz for QPSK 30 Mbps. (C) 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
