The propagation problem of an axially slotted coaxial cable is investigated using the mode-matching technique. The outer conductor of a coaxial cable has a finite thickness and the fields are represented in terms of discrete eigenfunctions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain a set of simultaneous equations for the modal coefficients. Computations are performed to illustrate the behavior of dispersion relation for the monofilar and bifilar modes.
