The new concept of ubiquitous robot (Ubibot) is introduced, and its recent progress and development for the future ubiquitous world are expounded. The Ubibot represents an amalgamation of the tripartite personification of entities of perception, thinking and action upon the three forms of robots: software robot (Sobot), embedded robot (Embot) and mobile robot (Mobot). It will provide us with seamless, calm, and context-aware services in a networked environment. This paper presents system architecture to address problems of interoperability between different hardware and software platforms in a ubiquitous robot environment offering services to the user regardless of space or time constraints. Furthermore, this paper presents case study to show the general feasibility of the proposed concepts.
