dc.description.abstractFree-standing 2D slab photonic band-edge lasers based on square lattice and triangular lattice are realized by optical pumping at room-temperature. Both in-plane-emission and surface-emission photonic band-edge lasers are observed and compared. Analyses on optical loss mechanisms for finite-size photonic band-edge lasers are also discussed.-
