A new sustaining driver for a plasma display panel (PDP) employing a gas-discharge current compensation method is proposed. It features a high performance, zero-voltage-switching, high efficiency, low EMI and high energy-recovery capability. Furthermore, since it compensates for the large gas-discharge current, it enables the PDP to light at a lower voltage than the prior circuit.
