Legendrian surgery is not category-preserving for tight contact structures

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to show that the Seifert fibered space Sigma(-1/2 ,1/3,1/3) over S-2 does not admit any tight contact structures. As a consequence, we can conclude that Legendrian surgery is not category-preserving for tight contact structures on closed 3-manifolds.
