We have studied the surface waves which are strongly modified by the presence of the PEO adsorption layers by surface light scattering. We use the surface hydrodynamic theories to analyze our power spectra of surface waves at high bulk PEO concentrations. We find that the values of the surface viscoelastic parameters of the PEO adsorption layers from an aqueous solution are much larger than those of PEO monolayers spread at an air/water interface. This is consistent with the results of previous surface tension and ellipsometry measurements.
