dc.description.abstractA transmit diversity system with liner prefilters exhibiting near-optimal performance is proposed. Without the need for additional antennas, a significant gain on be obtained by increasing the prefilter length and adopting optimal MAP equalisation. As the prefilter length increases, the system performance is improved and closely approaches optimal performance. At a BER of 10(-3), the performance of the proposed system attains optimal performance within 0.5dB.-
