The cutoff rate of 16-DAPSK modulation and differential detection over a Rayleigh fading channel is calculated, which provides the ensemble performance of coded data transmission. Given the code rate, the minimum SNR required for reliable communication is obtained with parameters such as the ring ratio and the diversity number.-
