dc.description.abstractAn overview is made on time-dependent buoyant convection in an enclosure with time-periodic thermal or mechanical boundary conditions. The classical models for resonant convection are reviewed. Recent numerical efforts to determine the resonance frequency and the physical rationalizations are described. Extensions and practical utilizations of resonant convection are discussed. Resonant enhancements of transport phenomena in mixed convection are illustrated, and explanations are given for physical mechanisms.-
