The Cd NMR spectrum of polymeric tetraaquobis(malonato) dicadmium(II) 1 is characterized by two resonances and its crystal structure shows two cadmium sites in distinct chemical environments; the six- and eight-coordinate sites formed by oxygen donors are correlated with chemical shifts at δ 18 and -107, respectively.
