dc.description.abstract | Collapse analysis of space-framed vehicle models is conducted using finite element limit analysis. The collapse load and the collapse mode are calculated for the base model, simplified vehicle structure with frames of the uniform cross-section. The analysis is shown to execute sequential design changes of design parameters, thereby enhancing the energy absorption efficiency and reduce the deflection toward the passenger compartments. | - |
