Novel Reductive Cleavage Reaction of α-Halo Epoxides with SMI2: Synthesis of Cyclopropanols
Aryl substituted alpha-halo epoxide reacted with SmI2 to give the cyclopropanols in the presence of HMPA, while allyl alcohols were yielded in the absence of HMPA.
