GENERATION OF A SQUEEZED OSCILLATOR VIA COLLISIONS

It is shown that squeezing can be generated in a harmonic oscillator by subjecting it to a collisional interaction. As a numerical example, one-dimensional collision of a hydrogen molecule with a helium atom is studied within a semiclassical formalism.
