An as-grown superconducting triple layer Y1Ba2Cu3O7-delta/Pr1Ba2Cu3O7-delta/Y1Ba2Cu3O7-delta was fabricated by means of atomic beam assisted evaporation. For the triple layers with a 50 angstrom, 150 angstrom or 300 angstrom thick Pr1Ba2Cu3O7-delta(PBCO) layer, the resistance of the current flowing across the PBCO layer was compared with that of the current flowing parallel with the PBCO layer. The temperature dependence of the resistance for the crossing current revealed that the electrical properties of the triple layer are very sensitive to any defects in the PBCO layer. The I-V characteristic curves show a strong nonlinearity and the role of the PBCO layer turns out to be very complex.
