A fair estimation of marks

Each student enrolling in a seminar course evaluates the performances of the others by giving marks. The raw data of the marks will then be summarized and the summary will contribute in part towards the students final grades. The problem is how to obtain fair summary measures, and we suggest a solution based on the balanced incomplete block analysis and the residual analysis. Examples are given.
