dc.description.abstractSynthetic routes to [9,10-exo -{Cu(PPh3)2}-9,10-(mu-H)2-7,8-nido-C2B9H10] which displays an unusual solution dynamic property have been devised. The molecular structure and composition of the novel d10 exo-nido-cupracarborane, established by single-crystal X-ray analysis and B-11 NMR spectroscopy, reveal the eta2-hapticity of nido-C2B9 cage toward an exo-Cu(PPh3)2 moiety as well as the presence of the 12th H atom.-
