An alternative method to obtain the nonlocal effective action is presented. By using the momentum space representation and Riemann normal coordinates in general curved spacetime, the one-loop nonlocal effective action is obtained. It is shown that the result agrees with that previously derived by Barvinsky and Vilkovisky.-
