Comparison of address allocation techniques in Ad Hoc networks

Abstract

The major research efforts in the area of MANET (Mobile Ad hoc Network) focus on developing efficient routing protocols which assume that mobile nodes are configured a priori with unique addresses before they enter a network. Pre-configuration is not always possible and has some drawbacks. Furthermore, a permanent central infrastructure component or network administrator does not exist in a MANET. A protocol for dynamic allocation and management mechanism for hosts with unique addresses is needed in a MANET. This article gives a solution what we do and how we do for dynamic auto-configuration and management of nodes with unique addresses in a MANET through introduction of address allocations, novel classification of each approach In terms of issues and each solution, evaluation of them including my proposal, prototype design and implementation and finally applying to a useful application in MANET.
