dc.description.abstractIn OBS networks, the one-way reservation strategy causes the blocking problem by the contention in a resource reservation. In order to solve this problem, the deflection routing scheme is studied. According to these existing studies, the deflection routing as a contention resolution can reduce the blocking probability by providing an alternate path in OBS networks. However, the deflection routing schemes proposed in conventional studies are hard to implement in a real OBS network because of a complexity problem. In order to settle this problem, this problem is considered in aspect of the configuration management. The configuration management means to manage the configuration of network resources efficiently. This configuration management includes all performed operations in order to manage the configuration of network resources and elements. When these operations carry out, these operations can cause overheads in the network operation cost. In this thesis, we propose the configuration management policy based on operation cost model in order to reduce the blocking probability in OBS networks. At first, we develop the operation cost model based on DEB according to the network status information. Moreover, we propose the network status decision algorithm using bounded range of the sensitivity of this cost, and develop the policy decision criteria for the configuration management by providing the alternate path. Finally, throughout the theoretical and experimental analysis, we can obtain that our proposed scheme has the stable cost sensitivity and outperforms the conventional scheme in complexity as results.eng
