Over past few years, computer technology has been amazingly developed with varying degree of computational power, ranging from powerful server systems to embedded net-enabled devices. Accordingly we can discuss about an era of "ubiquitous computing."
For applications running on mobile devices, they need to know the physical location of resources so that they can adapt their behavior accordingly.
In this thesis, we report the research about various location systems and find out a proper indoor location system for the applications which need high-rate information update of location such as home service robot. We also have analyzed the performance of a selected system. Through the performance analysis, we detected the limitation of the chosen system: the low information update rate. We suggest new indoor location finding system to resolve the pointed problem. Prototype of proposed system was implemented and tested. We reach a conclusion with the basic test that the proposed system can be a possible solution to the low-update-rate problem.
