A study on preference based IPTV efficient head-end storage design algorithm

The Main trend of Global Telecommunication industry can be said to IP(Internet Protocol) based convergence of telecommunication and broadcast network from diffusion of internet, and digitalization of media. The emergence of above paradigm is lead to explosive demand on converged high quality multimedia contents service to both the customer, and the service provide, and evolution of FMC based high bandwidth network, and high quality digital TV technology are promoting those demanding environment more and more. Under this circumstances, distinction among different service providers is getting blurred, and invasion of market among distinctive service provider is emerging. With those market environment, IPTV(Internet Protocol Television), which is derived by convergence of both network, and service provider, is emerging as killer service. With recognition on importance of IPTV(Internet Protocol Television), domestic telecommunication service provider, internet service provider, and broadcast service providers are focusing on IPTV, and active research and discussion is undergoing for commercialization. Those studies have been focused on basic aspects for commercialization such as service control, contents distribution, and transport network which directly influences on service control, and contents distribution. As the result, those aspects are showing superior result with actual H/W, and S/W development. However, over concentration on few aspects causes passing over of studies on other important areas which is critical for commercialization either. The representative aspect, passed over, can be said to dynamic control, and management of Head-end storage size. In case of Multi-channel broadcast service which serves fixed channel service is enabled, and provisioned through building efficient distribution network, which can deliver contents with QoS.
