dc.description.abstract | Chile is one of the countries with the most advanced telecommunication infrastructure in the region. This is due to private investment and several government initiates, especially in the rural areas. As a result, only few extreme isolated places are yet to be connected to the national backbone. In this sense, four different technologies are analyzed and one that best suits the need of these areas is chosen. Then, the chosen technology is described and a technical solution is proposed to provide broadband service to extreme isolated areas. All this is done with the goal of decreasing the digital gap that still prevails in Chile. | eng |
