dc.description.abstract | Internet businesses can employ Internet technologies to integrate internal and external business processes. The integration helps companies sharpen their conventional business. In this Internet business environment, the speed of change is inconceivable. An important challenge in the age of Internet business is the proper alignment of customers’ needs with the business system to sustain competitive advantage. As customers’ needs change dramatically, Internet businesses and corresponding web systems evolve continuously. In order to improve continuously a web system according to customers’ needs, reuse of design results is of particular importance. For the improvement of this alignment and reusability, this dissertation proposes a scenario-based methodology for developing web system and corresponding support system, called eBizBench. This methodology focuses on the development of the web systems from customers’ perspective. It consists of five phases: customer analysis, value analysis, web design, implementation design, and construction in order to align customers’ needs with implementation details. It includes a customer analysis phase to analyze customer groups and their needs. Scenarios are employed for analyzing requirements in a natural fashion. By using this methodology, companies are more likely to capture the context in which customers interact with their web system. The eBizBench is developed not only for supporting the proposed methodology but also for the reuse and conversion of design results. It includes seven subsystems: project management, customer analysis, value analysis, web design, implementation design, repository management, and repository. The eBizBench can enhance the productivity of development process in a systematic fashion. A repository and corresponding repository management subsystem are implemented for the reuse and conversion of design results. These are better able to support reusability, and thus enhance the maintenance of the res... | eng |
