Group meeting scheduling with resource constraints

Abstract

Group meeting scheduling is one of widely used groupware tools. In most meeting scheduling systems, however, resource management function is very limited, which leads to inefficient allocation of valuable resources including spaces, facilities, and time. In this thesis, comprehensive modeling of resource is proposed in order to manage resources systematically. Resource reallocation facility is presented as an application. Reallocation of resource in scheduling process can contribute to efficient resource allocation in resource constrained environment. Negotiation process considering priority of attendees is also considered in this thesis which can find suboptimal solution when the problem is infeasible.
