The probe is developed to measure the two-phase mixture water leves. The developed probe senses level by discrimination between the heat transfer of the liquid phase and that of the vapor phase. The probe is capable of measuring not only the single phase water level but also the two-phase mixture water level in spite of the hysteresis effect. It has the advantages of other level probes in terms of density independence, mechanically rugged, inexpensive, adaptable to the harsh environment and electrical output signal.
In order to demonstrate the ability of the probe, the calibration and the experimental simulation are performed. From the results, it is confirmed that the probe has an adequate of the level sensing. And also, it is shown that the measured data with the use of the probe are in good agreement with those measured visually.
