dc.description.abstractThe secondary plant performance evaluation and diagnosis expert system using performance parameters, EXPPS, has been developed to support the plant operator and is intended to improveplant performance and enhance operating flexibility. EXPPS package consists of three functonal modules: Performance Evaluation Module, Diagnosis Module and Knowledge Base Entry Module. The secondary plant for diagnostic function is schematized into the five main systems and sub-systems based on modular modeling system concept. The Performance Module evaluates the performance effective factors through acquisition of data before a protection alarm level is reached. The Diagosis Module diagnoses the cause to prevent more degradation of performance and generates an operation guide. This expert system will be connected with the existing plant data acquisition system and/or thermal performance monitoring system. As the design tool for man-machine interface, EXPPS uses the M1 shell developed by Teknowledge and IBM compatible personal computer.eng
