dc.description.abstractThe four-fermion interaction in 2+1 dimensions is non-renormalizable in weak-coupling perturbation theory. We show that this models are in fact renormalizable order by order in the 1/N expansion, and we find in this theory a finite ultraviolet fixed point. The thermodynamics of the model is analyzed.eng
