dc.description.abstract | 진공 ($2 \times 10^{-6} torr$) 에서 유리에 증착하여 만든 비정질 Ge 박막의 광학적 성질을 조사했다. $0.5 \sim 1.24 ev$ 의 photon energy 영역에서 구조가 같으나 두께가 다른 한 쌍의 sample 의 transmittance 를 측정함으로써 비정질 Ge 의 optical constant 를 구했고, 특히 한창 논란이 되고 있는 absorption edge 의 모양을 살폈다. 한 쌍의 sample의 구조가 같다는 가정은 iteration 방법에 의한 컴퓨터 계산 도중 자명하게 검토된다. 두께가 $860 \mbox{\AA},\; 1000 \mbox{\AA}$ 인 sample 한 쌍과, $1860 \mbox{\AA},\; 1950 \mbox{\AA}$ sample 한 쌍에 대해 측정하였는데, 굴절을 n 은 전자의 sample이 후자의 sample 보다 측정된 모든 파장에서 0.2 정도 적은 값을 가졌고, band gap 의 위치는 전자의 sample ($E_g = 0.66 ev$)이 후자의 samle ($E_g = 0.56 ev$) 보다 0.1ev 정도 높은 energy로 이동했는데, 이와같은 결과들은 전자의 sample 이 후자의 sample 보다 더 dense packing 되었음을 의미한다. 한편 absorption edge 의 모양은 두 경우 모두 비교적 sharp 한 모양을 얻었는데, 이것은 band edge 부근에 있는 localized states 가 exponential tail 의 형태가 아니라 sharp 한 모양임을 암시한다. $\epsilon_2$ spectrum 에 대해서 matrix element 의 energy 의존을 반 정량적으로 고려하고 $\bar{k}$-selection rule 을 무시한 non-direct transition model 을 사용하여 model calculation 을 한 결과는 실험치를 잘 설명해 준다. | kor |
