PP wave background made a big issue because it is a penrose limit of $AdS_5 x S_5$ and exactly and easily solvable theory so that we could have exact results for AdS/CFT correspondence.
D-brane also boomed up lots of stories : channel duality, string duality, tachyon condensation, M theory and so on. Especially boundary state which is closed string version of D-brane has deep relations with string field theory, because as a closed string source term in brane dynamics, boundary state makes brane dynamics conceptually easy and easy to give various kind of source terms.
We study D-branes of IIA string theory in pp wave background by using boundary states : The boundary state is constructed and channel duality is checked. We find that supersymmetric constraints restrict the positions and directions of D-branes. Also, tensions and RR charges of D-branes in pp wave background are calculated by decomposing field contents according to their representations in SO(3) x SO(4), along the Polchinski``s and Dabholkar and Raeymaekeres`` appoach. It turns out that they have the same values as those in the flat background. It can be partially explained by that for time-like brane, gluing condition projects the closed string propagator to the $p^+=0$ subspace and these states propagate as in the flat space.
