dc.description.abstract | An expression is obtained for the sound pressure radiated from a circular plate having an elastic edge beam and a ring mass bounded on one side by a fluid when the plate is excited by a time harmonic force. In this case, the representative calculations of far-field pressure show that sound radiation from the plate is greatly affected by the choice of the attached ring mass, the loss factor of plate, the external force, etc. An expression is also obtained for the transient sound pressure radiated from the plate excited by an external impact. In this case, the representative calculations of farfield pressure show that the plate vibrates in such a manner that the piston-like and the flexural vibration are superposed together, and the initial impulsive waveform radiated from the plate represents the piston-like vibration. | eng |
