Bursts of correlated messages can be sent through the SS7 network if they have access to user signaling bearer capabilities as specified in the ANSI T1.623 and CCITT Q.931 standards. These messages can affect delay performance of ISUP and TCAP traffic which have been primarily transfered through the SS7 network. Leaky bucket(LB) controller is investigated to prevent the correlated messages from degrading link delay performance. By using LB scheme, time separation is given between the correlated messages. In this paper we give the mathematical modeling of the system, and analyze delay performances at the LB controller and at the link transmit queue.
