dc.description.abstractUp to now, considerable efforts have been extended toward analyzing the hand movement and developing the methods to measure the response time. This thesis investigates the effects of angle difference, lateral and vertical clearance in foot pedal. Main results obtained from the analysis of response time are as follows; (1) in reaction time, three factors, angle difference, lateral and vertical clearance between two pedals, are not significant. There is no difference between subjects, and cases. Reaction time is constant and about 72 msec. (2) in movement time, three factors are very significant (p<0.01). Differences between subjects, cases are very significant (p<0.01). In unexpected case, movement time is longer than in expected case. Using these relationship, a model for predicting movement time is developed.eng
